About OLSpamCop

OLSpamCop started with some modifications to a macro created by Ryan Hayle which he kindly posted on one of the SpamCop newsgroups. The modifications continued with some excellent suggestions and contributions from the anti-spam community, including Darren Brothers, Roger May, and Dmitry Streblechenko.

It quickly became clear that the macro version of the script was a bit too fiddly and long winded for a lot of people to install, and so Lars Roland offered to step in and assist with creating a Visual Basic add-in version of the macro which would be more user friendly to install and use. After some extremely hard (and sometimes frustrating) work by Lars and myself, we have finally released the first version of the add-in (called version 3 to carry on with the macro project) as freeware for public use.

The OLSpamCop logo was created and kindly donated by a good friend and excellent graphic designer, Kyle Bellamy.
